Build BW collaborated with Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department to design and construct a 158,544-sf jail and administrative office facility, doubling inmate capacity and incorporating therapeutic spaces while prioritizing safety and staff well-being.

This 158,544-square-foot facility goes beyond basic housing and workspace, offering a design that prioritizes adaptability to the evolving needs of the community. Through a collaborative partnership, BW delivered a operational and staffing-efficient layout, enabling the County to effectively double its inmate bed capacity and incorporate therapeutic areas that support rehabilitation efforts, all while maintaining existing staffing levels.

The core objectives of this project centered on creating a space that is not only easily expandable for future growth but also operationally streamlined and equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Furthermore, elements were carefully optimized with a strong emphasis on both inmate and staff safety.
