Build BW collaborated with Clay County to design and construct a new 285-bed jail pod, roof, and water management system while renovating the existing kitchen and laundry areas.

Build BW collaborated closely with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, Commissioners, and County Council to bring a significant expansion to the existing jail to fruition. This project involved the comprehensive development, design, and construction of a new housing pod capable of accommodating approximately 285 additional beds. The addition also includes a new sally port and dedicated booking area for inmates arriving from outside the County.

The project scope extended beyond the new pod to include renovations to the existing kitchen and laundry facilities, ensuring effective service to the increased inmate population. Proactive measures were also taken to enhance the longevity and functionality of the facility through the installation of a new roof and an improved water management system on the housing area. This project was completed in March 2024.
